North Dallas clay soil is very expansive which makes this one of the most difficult areas in the country to build a pool. Vinyl liner pools are rarely installed here due to these soil conditions. Rock is a very expensive building material, but we over-dig the pool and install interlocking rock to provide insulation between the pool shell and the clay soil. It also provides a space for any water that accumulates under the pool.

This pool is "Short-Plumbed" which means the plumbing stops just outside the shotcrete wall to prevent cave-ins. Once the shotcrete is installed and the yard is stabilized, the long plumb will take the pipes the rest of the way to the equipment pad. This method also provides the easiest access to plumbing for maintenance in the future.

We installed 2.5" main drain and spa drain plumbing for better waterflow. While this larger pipe is more expensive, it will reduce the strain and cost of running the pump for years to come.

Building a swimming pool while customers are living in the home is a mentally taxing process. While the back yard is destroyed, our customers must take their dogs for a walk 5-6 times each day. What is worse than the noisy days when construction is happening are the sunny silent days when nothing happens. By the end of the backyard remodel project, customer's are so thankful to be done. It is far easier to find negative pool company reviews than positive ones.

The Pool Industry needs to take better care of their customers! In 2022, MedHawk Pools introduced our "90 Day Pool Program" as a challenge to the industry to build projects in a reasonable amount of time. The faster we can get the project done, the less frustration is experienced by the customer.

Did we complete every project last year in 90 Days? No

Did we pursue excellence? Yes, and most of our projects were completed in 90 Days
